USBOT System presentation at CIFI Bologna
January 30, 2025, at CIFI Bologna: The Special Event Organized by the SAGA Group for the Presentation of the New Usbot Has Been Rescheduled
The special event organized by the SAGA Group, dedicated to the presentation of the new Usbot, an innovative technology set to revolutionize the railway maintenance sector, has been rescheduled for January 30, 2025, at CIFI Bologna.
The Usbot System is a collaborative robot entirely designed by PCM Srl, capable of transforming the field of non-destructive testing (NDT) of rail joints using phased array ultrasonic technology. This innovative and automated system allows operators to work in complete safety, reducing time and ensuring highly accurate results, thanks to repeatable and recordable tests supported by sophisticated algorithms developed by the company’s Research and Development Center.
- The day will begin at 12:00 PM with participant registration and a welcome refreshment. This will be followed by speeches from experts and representatives of the railway sector.
- After the opening remarks by Engineer Valerio Giovine, Secretary General of CIFI Rome, and Dr. Marco Salciccia, Technical Director of SAGA Srl, there will be a presentation of the PCM Institute by Glauco Francesco Patelli, Technical Manager of the institute, and Engineer Emanuele Gandolfo, Technical Director of the IIS CERT certification body.
- Engineer Giovanni Amarante, from the RFI Infrastructure Operations Directorate, will present the testing protocol, while Engineer Daniela De Marco, Level 3 Expert in UT NDT, will illustrate the functionality and advantages of the new Usbot.
- A live demonstration will be conducted by Ettore Morzilli, Level 3 Expert in UT NDT, and Engineer Daniela De Marco will explain the post-processing activities.
- The program also includes a presentation by Engineer Cristian Veglia, Rail BU Manager at Bureau Veritas, who will address issues related to certifying the repeatability of results.
- The event will conclude with Engineer Valerio Giovine and Dr. Marco Salciccia.
